Shea's Denim Basics

11 April –

There is nothing better than finding the perfect pair of denim, and not-so-coincidently, it’s one of the most common questions we get with Shea’s wardrobe. Here are her tried and trues.

Fashion and interior design intersect in so many ways. The two inspire each other and can takes cues from each other. If you have a particular style with your wardrobe, it’s likely your home reflects elements of the same aesthetic. In the case of denim jeans, they can easily be compared to the living room sofa. The sofa is the stalwart of living room design and layout. It’s reliable, it’s a staple, and it’s hardworking. The same can be said for denim jeans. And just as there’s many different styles of sofas, there’s many different styles of denim—we like to think of the English roll arm as the pair that’s perfectly tailored and the slipcover sofa as the relaxed, boyfriend jean. The fact that a lot of denim jeans get better with age is easily compared to a leather sofa, getting more beautiful as it takes on the wear and tear of life.

From their humble origins as durable workwear to their current status as a fashion essential, here at Studio McGee we appreciate an enduring design, whether that be in fashion or interiors. Just like the sofa in client designs, a good pair of jeans is a staple for Shea and we thought it high time to round up a few of her favorites. Here, some tried and true denim jeans that Shea goes back to over and over again.

“These are the best off-white jeans I’ve found. The perfect springtime staple.”
