The Sunday 7: Lots of New
I hope you enjoy this week’s Sunday 7! xo -Shea
26 February 2017 -
Every Sunday I share 7 things.
The format is simple and the topics are varied. It’s nice to get a little more personal and shake up the content – I hope you enjoy it! You can always shop the links at the bottom of the post. xo – Shea
1. This weekend I helped my sis-in-law with a photoshoot for her cute clothing line.
We shot it at the office and Wren and her cousin Piper were the models (yikes). Lots of bribery was involved and so was this beautiful fern backdrop:

2. We hit 400k followers on Instagram and 20K subscribers on our YouTube channel this week with the launch of our latest webisode!
We also just finished filming for a bed styling how-to (we’ll be sharing all the links when the video launches, but until then you can get almost everything except the bed/bedding in our shop!):

3. We have a lot of big installs coming up and I bought a pair of Dr. Scholl’s.
I know. I know. Sounds terrible, but they’re actually really cute! And comfy (obviously).
4. Speaking of upcoming installs, here is another progress pic from our #promontoryproject.
This is the guest master bathroom vanity – we did this AMAZING thick marble counter and if you look closely you’ll see the really pretty cement tile. I’m also loving flat panel cabinetry right now.

5. I tend to rotate being really into earrings, bracelets, or necklaces.
Right now it’s earrings. Big ones. I have my eyes on these, these, and these. I love wearing them paired with simple denim shirts like this one and this one.
6. As it turns out, I have really talented sister-in-laws.
Amy paired our canyon crock (which is probably one of my top 3 favorite things at McGee & Co.) with the prettiest anemones.

7. My work schedule is a little crazy, but it works for us.
We have a nanny in the mornings which is when Syd and I are both in the office. I come home around lunch or a little after and then work again after the kids go to bed until about midnight. I do this because I want to be home with our kids and I am grateful for the flexibility to do that. It also means making a few sacrifices to maintain that schedule. I have never talked about this before, but I turned down a book deal last year right as I was about to sign the contract. It just didn’t feel right. Books are notoriously time consuming and you can’t share the projects before the book is published. For months I kept telling myself that I would just make time for it because writing a book was a bucket list opportunity that I just couldn’t say no to. It was scary to turn down such a good thing, but in hindsight I’m so glad I did. It just wasn’t the right time for our business, my health, and family. The older I get the more experiences I have that teach me things will fall into place at the right time. I’m certain I will write a design book at some point, but right now I feel pretty strongly that my spare time needs to be reserved for family.
